Hi, I am Lista Qanaatia Spensley-Tagornak!

a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Art Therapist,

currently living in Victoria, BC and working world-wide.
My first name is Lista which means "ready" in Spanish.
My Inuk name, Qanaatia, could be interpreted as
"support", or more literally "tent-pole" or "spear" in Inuktitut. Qanaatia is also the name of my
highly respected maternal grandfather.

Pictured above are ‘Aupaluktunnguat’, in Inuktitut, or 'purple saxifrage' flowers.
They are the official territorial flower of Nunavut & the most northerly flowering plants in the world!
These beautifully resilient & little (1cm wide) flowers pack a whole lot of meaning:
They overcome harsh/long winters, hug the ground, are often the first pop of colour to appear in the Spring,
thus, symbolizing warmer/lighter days ahead, and even continue to flower during the Summer!
I acknowledge, with respect, the
W̱sáneć (Saanich) and W̱joÅ‚eÅ‚p (Tsartlip)
people on whose traditional and unceded territories Lista Wellness stands.
