A Bit About:
About Me
My first name, Lista, means “ready” in Spanish. Qanaatia means “support” or “tent-pole” in Inuktitut, a name I honour in memory of my maternal grandfather. I am an Inuk and Caucasian Canadian who believes in supporting people to express themselves, feel safe, grow consciously, and become their best selves regardless of background or circumstance.
What I Bring to My Work
I draw on art therapy, counselling, trauma sensitive care, and community centred practices to meet each person, group, or school community where they are at. I aim to create spaces of safety and empowerment where people can explore identity, emotion, healing, creative expression, boundaries, consent, community connection, and growth. I am committed to offering culturally sensitive, inclusive, and strength based support that helps people feel seen, heard, and valued.
When I’m Not Working
I love spending time with Kunik, my five-year-old goldendoodle girl. Kunik means “kiss” in Inuktitut.
I also love the cold, making art, travelling, spending time in nature, volleyball, soccer, kayaking,
paddle boarding, and playing board games with friends.
I welcome you to explore my site and reach out to see whether we might be a good fit together.
